Job Description :
The Mechanical Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for all communication regarding the failure analysis team. In this role, you will analyze field-returned products to determine the root cause of failure. Additionally, you will report information between the failure analysis team and key internal stakeholder groups, including durability, reliability, COEs, and field service centers.
Essential Responsibilities :
Support the team as they collect data for high-level component failures, drilling down to second and third level failure modes arriving at root cause of the failure. Work with the design engineering and quality teams to determine solutions for increased durability and extended service life of new and existing products. Point of contact for the failure analysis team which will include reviewing failure analysis reports or product reliability concerns at scheduled team meetings. Assist in developing and maintaining the documentation structure, when and where required. Assist the site leader in disseminating any company information or customer requested actions concerning results of the failure analysis. Help support dashboards to display metrics and KPI's for added value to the groups involved in durability and reliability initiatives.
Skill Set Required :
BS in Engineering or technical discipline with associated skills and experience. Familiar with project management and able to communicate effectively. Ability to work with deadlines and constantly changing requirements while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with team members across all levels of authority, from front-line operators to plant leadership.
