Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and commission critical subsystems for high-speed rotating machinery, dynamic load systems, and high-power thermal management equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities & Key Skills:
First-Principles Design:
Translate complex challenges into requirements using free-body diagrams, energy balances, and pressure/flow mapping. 3
D CAD & System Integration:
Specify layouts, fluid/electrical interfaces, and generate high-fidelity, "as-built" 3D CAD models.
Structural & Thermal Analysis:
Perform multi-axis stress, vibrational/fatigue, thermal growth/derating, tolerance stack-up, and high-pressure/high-temp fluid analyses.
Prototyping & Testing:
Design test rigs, specify instrumentation, and lead hands-on build, test, and troubleshooting cycles.
Vendor Collaboration:
Partner with fabricators and component vendors for manufacturability and real-world performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
On-site presence required at local testing and engineering facilities in the Reno / Carson City area.
Pay:
$120,900.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Education:
Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
Sr.
Mechanical Engineer:
5 years (Required) 3D CAD Modeling (SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor): 4 years (Required) Rotating Machinery Design (Pumps, Compressors, Turbines): 3 years (Required)
Thermal Mgmt Systems & Heat Transfer:
2 years (Preferred) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) &
Structural Analysis:
1 year (Preferred)
Stress, Vibration, & Fatigue Analysis:
1 year (Preferred)
Thermal Expansion & Fluid Dynamics:
1 year (Preferred) Design for Manufacturability (DFM / DFA) &
Vendor Mgmt:
1 year (Preferred) (GD&T) &
