Job Description Mechanical Engineering Supervisor Everson Tesla Inc. Duties/Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will be in charge of managing and supervising a team of mechanical engineers and machinists in the Mechanical Engineering Design department. This group provides design and drawing support for the Project Engineering department, manages the Tooling and Machining department, and provides complete machined products for customer orders as required. Additionally, the group works alongside manufacturing, quality assurance, sales and procurement departments as required to support our projects. The Mechanical Engineering Supervisor will be expected to collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, sales, and procurement departments on a regular basis, helping to plan out full project cycles and assist with production efficiency. They will also be a key role in addressing nonconformances and manufacturing issues. The candidate will be in charge of purchasing tooling and materials to assist the Tooling and Machining department throughout production. They will also have the responsibility of contacting and organizing services to maintain and repair machining equipment. Furthermore, they will be tasked with helping to plan and organize capital equipment purchases for the department. A well-qualified candidate must also be able to act as a resource for mechanical designs and technical drawings. They will be expected to conduct design reviews and provide insight on manufacturing techniques and strategies. They will oversee the design, testing, and improvement of mechanical parts and systems. programming. In this leadership role, the candidate will be expected to conduct yearly performance reviews, mentor our engineering staff, and guide our machining staff.Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2 or more years in a lead or supervisor role
- Strong knowledge of
SOLIDWORKS CAD
software required- Strong background in assigning tolerancing, including GD&T
- Demonstrated experience in modeling and creating manufacturing drawing packages from models
- Prior experience programming and machining with CNC equipment a plus
- Must be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge of mechanical design strategies
- Must be able to communicate and effectively interact and collaborate with engineers, management, machinists, and manufacturing technicians.
