AllTek is partnering with a prominent industrial client in Pittsburgh to identify an exceptional Mechanical Department Head. Steel, Metals, Heavy Industrial, Manufacturing & Process Industries Experience Required:
10+ years in mechanical engineering, with demonstrated leadership in heavy industrial or manufacturing settings No Visa Sponsorship available
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams Strong background in mechanical systems within steel mills, processing facilities, or heavy industrial environments Excellent communication skills, with ability to interface effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards Ability to develop engineering standards, quality procedures, and technical documentation Nice to
Have Skills:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar design software Knowledge of industrial piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, AISC, OSHA, NFPA, and API Previous experience working with major steel or heavy industrial clients
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial projects, including site visits and hands-on operational knowledge Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams within industrial settings
