Date posted 08/24/2026 Work Location Model On-site Flex Work Location Tualatin-OR Work Country United States The group you'll be a part of You'll be joining the Concept and Feasibility (C&F) team with the WETS Product Group , a highly collaborative, cross‑disciplinary organization within Lam's Global Products Group (GPG), focused on delivering industry‑leading wet processing solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The WETS organization develops liquid‑based process equipment supporting both wafer and panel‑level applications, with strong emphasis on new product introduction (NPI), technology differentiation, and manufacturing scalability. Our teams work closely across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, systems, and process engineering—partnering globally to bring complex, high‑performance tools from concept through production while meeting aggressive cost, schedule, and quality targets. The impact you'll make As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you will design cutting-edge mechanical systems, perform feasibility studies, and develop new products. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive semiconductor breakthroughs that define the next generation. In this role, you will directly contribute to a Concept and Feasibility (C&F) team focused on development activities for the next generation of electroplating deposition products. What you'll do Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation. Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings. Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Conduct detailed analysis including structural, finite element analysis (FEA), thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, and manufacturability to properly specify designs. Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance. Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements. Provide key deliverables including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, and design review presentations. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers. Who we're looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills. Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others. Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills. Preferred qualifications Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus. Experience in leading projects, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
