This is a confidential opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial building projects while contributing to a highly collaborative and technically driven team. The firm provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services across a variety of building sectors and is known for delivering practical, efficient, and code-compliant design solutions. Projects include commercial developments, institutional facilities, and complex multi-disciplinary building systems. The team works closely with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated and high-quality project delivery. This role is best suited for a seasoned mechanical engineer with strong HVAC design experience who is comfortable working through all phases of project development, from early design through construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Support project managers throughout all phases of mechanical system design Conduct site surveys and gather existing building and system conditions Perform HVAC load calculations and system sizing Develop ductwork layouts and mechanical system design drawings Prepare control diagrams, specifications, and engineering documentation Perform Title 24 energy compliance calculations Coordinate mechanical design efforts with architectural, structural, civil, and electrical teams Assist in the development and organization of construction drawing packages Respond to construction administration RFIs and field-related questions Support quality control reviews of engineering deliverables
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 8+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design within a consulting engineering environment Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building mechanical design principles Experience with California building codes and energy standards preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience preferred Familiarity with Title 24 energy compliance strongly preferred Field experience in construction or site observation is a plus Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
