Job Description

Our Team:
Semtech's Force Haptics Sensing Solutions Team are a team of talented and versatile engineers that enable our customers and partners to realize innovative Human Machine Interactions with industry leading MEMS Force Sensors and Haptics Systems.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will be working closely with our mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate our force sensing products into our customer's electronic devices. You will be working closely with different OEMs on next generation products such as Laptop, Mobile phones, Automotive steering wheels & smart surfaces, Fitness Trackers and Industrial display panels, etc. Your tasks can vary from mechanical design, finite element analysis, to root-cause analysis to integrate both force and other types of sensing together into customer's products .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute mechanical designs from concept to fabrication backed by thorough engineering analysis. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) on customer designs and recommend realistic design improvements that optimize the HMI experience. Assist in fabrication, assembly, and testing activities from Proof-of-Concepts to mass production projects. Collaborate closely with business and engineering teams during the product development cycle to translate customer input into successful, cutting-edge products. Travel to customer locations (domestic and international) to provide technical support
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of work experience designing real world products Creative problem solving in designing electro-mechanical assemblies from concept to fabrication Working knowledge of various fabrication methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3D printing, sheet metal stamping, and assembly techniques for consumer and industrial products Excellent skill in 3D CAD modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) Good understanding of materials and structural mechanics Consumer electronics experience a plus Working knowledge of electronics and circuits Hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly tools
