As a Staff Mechanical Robotics Engineer in our Mako and Enabling Technologies (MET) Research & Development team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional experts to design, prototype, and deliver innovative robotic solutions that transform patient care. This is a hybrid position based in Portage, MI; candidates must live within commuting distance and be onsite 3-4 days per week. Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions. Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance. Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes. Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions. Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices. Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch. What You Will Need Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Robotics, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field). Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience. Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies. Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in product design focused in robotics engineering Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based - You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite - Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid - You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
