Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support a leading renewable energy company in Greenville, SC. This individual will be responsible for a variety of design and manufacturing engineering activities depending on project scope, including ownership of component modifications, reviewing supplier quotes for cost reduction initiatives, developing cost models using Apriori or similar tools, creating mechanical designs, defining models and drawings, generating PLM BOMs and engineering change instructions, and supporting hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly. The engineer will collaborate closely with drafting, sourcing, manufacturing, aerodynamics, heat transfer, materials, repair, and value engineering teams while interfacing directly with suppliers to evaluate cost reduction opportunities, manufacturability, and overall design impact. Additional responsibilities include providing shop floor support for non-conformance dispositioning, supporting supplier qualification processes, reviewing SDRs, and following modified components through final assembly and fleet launch.
