Job Description

Job Overview The Product Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of mechanical products and assemblies supporting Lite-On's manufacturing operations. This role works cross-functionally with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and customers to develop reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable products while driving innovation, product performance, and operational efficiency. Duties Lead mechanical design efforts utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo to develop detailed mechanical models, schematics, and drawings. Perform mechanical drafting and 3D modeling for product design, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability. Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical detail drawings aligned with ASME codes & standards to guarantee precision and quality. Apply finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools to evaluate mechanical performance under various conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and project management to integrate mechanical components into overall product systems. Utilize building information modeling (BIM) tools where applicable to streamline design workflows. Perform root cause analysis on mechanical failures or issues, implementing corrective actions to improve product reliability. Support manufacturing processes by creating schematics, mechanical drawings, and machine design specifications that facilitate efficient production. Engage in project scheduling and management activities to ensure timely delivery of mechanical engineering projects. Incorporate principles of quantum engineering where relevant to advanced product development initiatives involving complex systems like programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Simulink. Experience Product Design & Development Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production. Manufacturing & Process Support Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize product designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA). Provide engineering support for production launches, engineering changes, and process improvements. Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and productivity. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer activities. Product Improvement & Reliability Investigate field failures and customer complaints to identify root causes and corrective actions. Drive product cost reduction, quality enhancement, and reliability improvement initiatives. Conduct engineering testing, data analysis, and performance validation. Support lifecycle management and continuous product optimization efforts. Project Management Manage engineering projects, schedules, deliverables, and technical documentation. Coordinate activities with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders. Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Compliance & Documentation Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company standards. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, environmental regulations, and customer requirements. Support audits, certifications, and customer engineering reviews. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering change requests (ECR/ECO). Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Conduct design reviews, tolerance analyses, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. Ensure products meet performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required. Master's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in product engineering, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering. Experience supporting product development from concept through production. Experience in electronics, power supply, industrial, automotive, or manufacturing environments preferred. Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or AutoCAD. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and root cause analysis methodologies. Familiarity with engineering testing, validation, and reliability analysis.
Travel Requirement:

Pay:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
