Job Description

Job Summary Aztec Engineering provides quality designs, solutions and support to the oil and gas industry. At Aztec, we recognize that our employees are the foundation of our success and we are committed to developing strong and talented staff in a collaborative, team-based environment. We are currently looking for a Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team at our Midland, TX office, serving operators and midstream companies across the Permian Basin. You will seal your own design packages and manage your own client relationships from the start — and as our Midland practice expands, there is a direct path into a senior technical or client leadership role. As a Project Engineer / Project Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Sealing engineering design packages for facilities, pipeline, and saltwater disposal (SWD) projects Facility and process design — separation, treating, tank batteries, vapor recovery, compression, and measurement SWD facility design — inlet manifolds, skim and gunbarrel tanks, oil recovery, filtration, transfer and injection pumps, high-pressure injection piping, tankage, and secondary containment Produced water gathering, transfer, and disposal pipeline design — line sizing, hydraulic modeling, surge analysis, pump stations, and material selection Engineering support for RRC disposal well permitting (Form W-14, Statewide Rule 9 / Class II UIC) and Permian Basin Disposal Well Review submittals Project cost estimates Project scheduling Leading client meetings and serving as the day-to-day client contact Construction and commissioning support — RFIs, submittal review, field visits, and startup assistance A strong commitment to working safely and protecting the safety of others Required Education, Skills and Qualifications Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Chemical, Petroleum, etc.) from an ABET-accredited program Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS) — or an active PE in another U.S. jurisdiction with the ability to obtain Texas licensure by comity within 90 days of hire 5-7 years of oil and gas experience In-depth knowledge of
ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 / B31.8, API 650 / 653, ASME BPVC
Section VIII, and other relevant codes Working knowledge of Texas Railroad Commission and TCEQ regulatory frameworks Construction and operations field experience Be highly analytical and have the ability to establish strong internal and external relationships Be driven, resilient, collaborative and goal oriented Any relevant experience in the upstream or midstream oil and gas industry, including produced water infrastructure Experience leading client meetings Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, with willingness to travel to field sites across the Permian Basin Authorized to work in the United States Due to the critical nature of our work, integrity is key. Pay:
$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
