Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical and MEP scopes for complex construction projects with a focus on mission-critical facilities and data centers. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering mechanical systems (piping, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection) on schedule, within budget and to high quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical mechanical knowledge with proven project management experience in construction and mission-critical environments.
Compensation:
Up to $165K base + bonus + $150 per diemKey ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end management of mechanical and MEP project scopes, including design coordination, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, progress reports and forecasts; proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain project performance.

Coordinate interdisciplinary teams including engineers, subcontractors, vendors and owners to ensure alignment on scope, sequence and quality requirements.

Oversee installation of piping, plumbing, HVAC and other mechanical systems; ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes and standards for mission-critical facilities.

Manage change orders, contract administration and claims resolution; negotiate with stakeholders to control cost and schedule impacts.

Implement and enforce site safety, quality control and commissioning protocols; ensure proper documentation and handover packages are delivered.

Drive commissioning, startup and performance testing activities for mechanical systems in data centers and other mission-critical environments.

Mentor and develop project engineers and site teams; promote continuous improvement in project delivery methods and best practices.

Collaborate with design teams during constructability reviews and value engineering to optimize system design and installation efficiency.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (PE, PMP) preferred.10+ years of progressive mechanical/MEP construction experience with at least 5 years in a project management role for commercial, industrial or mission-critical projects.

Proven experience on data center or mission-critical facilities preferred, with strong understanding of redundancy, uptime requirements and commissioning processes.

Hands-on technical knowledge of piping, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection systems and related equipment, including installation and testing procedures.

Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, procurement and subcontractors; experienced with project controls tools and software (MS Project, Primavera, Procore, etc.).Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; capable of making timely decisions under pressure.

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, local codes) and quality/safety programs (OSHA, JC, site safety plans).Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as required; valid drivers license and ability to obtain site clearances/credentials.
