Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Bachelor of Science Degree, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology minimum (5) years' experience. o The ideal candidate is familiar with the US Navy aircraft carrier modernization and maintenance process, particularly planning and executing refueling complex overhauls (RCOHs) of aircraft carrier propulsion plants. o Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: steam turbines or reduction gears. o In addition, expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: fluid mechanics, strength of materials, fasteners, shock analysis, GD&T, and/or repair of complex machinery. o This position requires the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook. We prefer (but do not require) SAP or similar ERP experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

5/40 work week. First Shift 7:30AM-4:00 PM #ZR
