Climatic Chassis Dynamometer (CCD) Test Engineer PACCAR paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) United States, Washington, Mount Vernon Aug 25, 2026 Requisition Summary The Climatic Chassis Dynamometer (CCD) Test Engineer will be based at PACCAR's Engine Test Laboratory (ETL) in Mount Vernon, Washington. The engineer filling this role will lead and support CCD testing activities for both internal and external customers while contributing to the testing and validation of PACCAR powertrain systems. This position also serves as a technical resource, providing leadership and mentorship to team members in a collaborative, hands-on environment. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities
Conduct performance, durability, and emissions testing of heavy-duty diesel and battery electric powertrain systems to support program goals for PACCAR's European and North American divisions
Support PACCAR organizations by testing and validating new engine, aftertreatment, and battery electric vehicle hardware and software
Mentor CCD technical staff on cell and engine operation, emissions measurement practices, data analysis, and quality validation
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of powertrain testing, emissions measurement, and data processing in the CCD
Work with the CCD team to perform facility and software upgrades to ensure compliance with 40 CFR Part 1066
Support PACCAR organizations by providing and improving testing tools used to calibrate, evaluate, and validate new engine and aftertreatment hardware and software
Improve existing test protocols to increase automation and test cell utilization
Develop methods to align test protocols, data processing tools, and testing methods
Qualifications
5+ years of applicable experience with at least 3 years performing powertrain testing
Knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
Test cell experience supporting heavy-duty on-highway engine development
Proficiency with AVL test cell automation systems and data analysis tools, including PUMA and
