Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Customer Field Test Engineer for a Contract with a client in Mount Vernon, WA. The ideal candidate with experience supporting powertrain validation, field diagnostics, and root cause investigations to improve vehicle performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Rate Range:
$45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Customer Field Test Engineer Job Responsibilities include: Conduct hands-on diagnostics and troubleshooting of heavy-duty trucks, powertrain systems, and vehicle components to identify and resolve field issues. Perform root cause investigations using diagnostic tools, data logging systems, and engineering analysis techniques to improve product performance and reliability. Collaborate directly with fleet customers, service technicians, dealers, and drivers to document concerns and drive timely issue resolution. Collect, analyze, and report vehicle performance data to support engineering investigations, validation activities, and corrective actions. Coordinate repairs, software updates, and component replacements with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure effective problem resolution. Support new product validation and field-testing activities by evaluating vehicle performance, durability, and customer satisfaction under real-world operating conditions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle testing, powertrain validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, or field engineering. Hands-on experience troubleshooting heavy-duty trucks and powertrain systems, including root cause analysis, diagnostic tools, and vehicle data collection. Strong ability to work directly with customers, dealers, and cross-functional engineering teams to investigate field issues, coordinate corrective actions, and support product validation activities. Pay Details:
