We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys mechanical design, hands-on problem-solving, and seeing projects move from concept to production. What You'll Do As a Mechanical Engineer at McMillan Electric, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects—from product design and analysis to hands-on manufacturing support and continuous improvement.

Design and improve:

Create and revise engineering drawings and specifications for electric motors, components, tooling, fixtures, equipment layouts, and other products.

Bring ideas to life:

Develop 3D models, design concepts, layouts, and innovative mechanical solutions that improve product performance and manufacturability.

Solve real-world problems:

Apply engineering principles and mechanical design tools to troubleshoot product, application, and manufacturing challenges.

Analyze and optimize:

Perform FEA, including stress, thermal, buckling, frequency, vibration, and drop-force analysis, to evaluate and improve designs.

Work hands-on:

Use precision measuring equipment and small hand tools to evaluate components, investigate issues, and support solutions.

Support the production floor:

Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve day-to-day challenges and improve quality, efficiency, reliability, and workflow.

Lead improvements:

Take ownership of mechanical component failures and other engineering challenges, leading problem-solving efforts from investigation through implementation.

Support new products:

Review mechanical aspects of new and modified parts and assemblies and participate in new model and product releases.

Plan for the future:

Work with Production and Maintenance on workflow improvements, equipment planning, and new manufacturing capabilities.

Keep projects moving:

Calculate material requirements, develop material lists, maintain specifications, and ensure engineering details are accurate and up to date.

Collaborate across the organization:

Work with engineers, Production, Quality, Maintenance, customers, and vendors to turn challenges into practical, effective solutions. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Strong initiative and the ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to use small hand tools and precision measuring equipment. Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
