Responsibilities Assist in creating detailed 2D CAD drawings and schematics for mechanical systems using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software Support the development of 3D models for product design and system components with tools like SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Revit Collaborate on drafting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), system schematics, and CAD documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity Contribute to the design of mechanical systems by applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and ASME codes & standards Help prepare technical reports, assembly instructions, and CAD documentation for project deliverables Participate in building information modeling (BIM) activities to support project coordination and system integration Assist in the organization and management of PDM (Product Data Management) software for version control and data sharing Requirements Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or related program with a strong foundation in mechanical design principles Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor or Pro/ENGINEER is highly preferred Knowledge of mechanical drafting techniques, 2D CAD drafting, 3D modeling for product design, and system design processes Familiarity with GD&T standards, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and CAD documentation practices Understanding of mechanical systems design including piping systems, mechanical components, and assembly processes Ability to interpret technical drawings and adhere to ASME codes & standards Strong communication skills with an aptitude for technical writing and collaboration Enthusiastic about learning new CAD tools such as Bluebeam or NavisWorks for project review and coordination This paid internship is designed to empower aspiring design engineers by providing meaningful work experience that enhances technical skills while fostering professional growth.
