Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Motors Support Technician to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and troubleshooting motor systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across various manufacturing and mechanical applications. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement, support equipment uptime, and contribute to innovative mechanical solutions. Duties Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and root cause analysis on motor systems, including electrical and mechanical components, to identify issues quickly and accurately. Assist with project scheduling for maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Creo, or SolidWorks to interpret schematics, develop mechanical designs, and create detailed drawings for fabrication or repair projects. Operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to ensure components meet strict ASME codes & standards. Conduct equipment repair and maintenance tasks using hand tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques aligned with manufacturing best practices. Support CNC machining operations by understanding machining processes, programming basics, and mechanical design principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving mechanical design, drafting, schematics interpretation, and equipment upgrades. Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, modifications, schematics updates, and compliance records following safety standards. Assist in the installation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and LabVIEW-based control systems to enhance automation capabilities. Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry standards such as ASME codes & standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles combined with practical experience in maintenance and fabrication. Proficiency in project scheduling tools and techniques to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently. Expertise in root cause analysis methodologies for diagnosing complex motor system issues. Skilled in CAD software including AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks for drafting and designing mechanical components. Familiarity with schematics interpretation for electrical and mechanical systems within manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with CNC machines, machining processes, welding techniques, soldering, and precision measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers. Ability to perform mechanical assembly, equipment repair, troubleshooting electrical controls (PLCs), and system calibration. Knowledge of industry safety standards such as ASME codes & standards to ensure compliant work practices. Excellent math skills for technical calculations related to tolerances, dimensions, and system performance parameters. Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
