Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dynamometer Operator to join our engineering and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating dynamometers to test and evaluate the performance of mechanical and industrial equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with various CAD software and measurement instruments. Responsibilities Set up, calibrate, and operate dynamometers to perform precise testing on engines, motors, or other mechanical components. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD. Conduct engineering testing procedures, collect data accurately, and analyze results to identify performance trends. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during testing processes utilizing schematics reading and interpretation skills. Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and equipment calibration in accordance with industry standards such as ASME codes. Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on dynamometers and associated industrial equipment. Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, and digital multimeters for quality assurance. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testing protocols through root cause analysis and process optimization. Support fabrication and assembly activities involving mechanical design modifications using CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks or Creo. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all testing operations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Skills Extensive experience with project scheduling, mechanical troubleshooting, and industrial equipment maintenance. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo for mechanical drafting and design. Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical schematic reading, and interpretation. Knowledge of engineering testing methodologies aligned with ASME standards; familiarity with schematics is essential. Skilled in using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, Soldering tools, and other hand tools. Ability to perform root cause analysis to diagnose complex mechanical or electrical issues effectively. Competent in using LabVIEW for data acquisition and analysis; familiar with CNC machining processes. Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, machining, and assembly. Excellent knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation combined with drafting skills for detailed technical documentation. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite for reporting purposes; familiarity with engineering software such as Schematics or CAD is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical components within industrial systems. Capable of performing maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment while adhering to safety standards.
