About Our Client:
Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturer specializing in architectural metal products. Their team is known for precision, quality craftsmanship, and delivering custom architectural solutions while maintaining a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Submittal Drafter to support architectural projects from initial documentation through approved drawings. This position is responsible for producing accurate architectural submittal drawings, interpreting project documents, developing project-specific details, and assisting Project Managers with drawing revisions and technical documentation. The ideal candidate has previous submittal drafting experience, is highly proficient in AutoCAD, and can successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize AutoCAD to produce accurate architectural submittal drawings for architect and customer review. Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to determine project requirements. Develop detailed drawings that accurately communicate the scope of work and architectural intent. Assist Project Managers with drawing updates and revisions throughout the project. Create sketches and details for unique project and field conditions. Assist with preparing Requests for Information (RFIs) when additional project clarification is needed. Revise project drawings and documentation based on field dimensions and updated project information. Review drawings completed by other drafters for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Identify and correct drawing discrepancies before documents are submitted for review. Maintain organized and accurate project drawings and documentation. Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Complete assigned projects accurately and within established timelines. Communicate effectively with Project Managers and other internal team members. Perform additional drafting and project support responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous submittal drafting experience required. Minimum of 1 year of AutoCAD experience preferred. Completed AutoCAD training and proficiency with AutoCAD 2015 or newer required. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents. Strong understanding of architectural drafting principles and drawing standards. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, tasks, and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, drafters, and other team members. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects. Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment background and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based drafting and project support environment. Frequent computer use and extended periods working with AutoCAD and project documentation. Fast-paced environment requiring management of multiple projects and deadlines. Regular collaboration with Project Managers, drafting team members, and other departments. Position requires a high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
