Job Description
Job Title Electrical Drafter Location Portland, Oregon, Hybrid Pay Range $30.00 to $45.00 per hour Job Summary We are hiring an Electrical Drafter to create and modify detailed electrical drawings and 3D models using Revit and related BIM tools. This role supports construction and fabrication work by routing and coordinating electrical conduit systems, producing accurate shop drawings, and helping identify clashes before work begins in the field. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a 12 month initial duration. Responsibilities Create and modify electrical drawings and 3D models using Revit and other BIM software. Produce shop drawings and construction documents based on verbal and written direction. Route and coordinate electrical conduit systems in a 3D model environment. Identify and help resolve clashes with other trades during coordination. Apply drafting standards, practices, and techniques to routine assignments. Review work orders, design documents, and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions and design requirements. Use math and geometry to calculate figures, scale dimensions, and support production requirements. Create Revit worksheets and support Revit worksharing processes. Manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, and filters. Read and interpret 2D plans and translate them into accurate 3D models and drawings. Import spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects. Download and manage drawings and project information from web portals, SharePoint, FTP sites, and similar platforms. Prepare copies and drawing sets for internal teams and external stakeholders. Operate plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in the office or on job sites. Perform other drafting and documentation duties as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Completion of drafting courses. Experience using Revit. Experience with electrical drafting or MEP drafting. Ability to create Revit worksheets and work within Revit worksharing processes. Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar functions. Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, both electronic and hard copy. Ability to take verbal and written direction and turn it into accurate, buildable drawings. Strong math skills for dimensioning, scaling, and conversions. Experience with construction software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades. Preferred One to two years of technical training in drafting or a related field. Experience in electrical drafting within construction. Experience routing conduit and performing clash detection. Experience creating simple parametric families, using shared parameters, building schedules, and working with complex geometry in Revit. Familiarity with document management through web portals, SharePoint, FTP sites, and project websites. Work Environment or Schedule Hybrid schedule, typically 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Professional environment supporting large construction projects with BIM and drafting software.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
