Job Description

Overview Join our innovative team as a Tool and Gage Designer, where you will play a pivotal role in developing precise, reliable, and efficient tools and gauges that support manufacturing excellence. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to combine mechanical engineering expertise with advanced CAD skills to design, analyze, and refine tools that meet rigorous industry standards. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure that all designs adhere to technical specifications, safety protocols, and project timelines. Responsibilities Design and develop detailed tools and gages using CAD software such as AutoCAD & SolidWorks Create comprehensive schematics and system designs for manufacturing processes and quality control applications. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure precision and functionality of tool components. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize tool assembly processes and ensure manufacturability. Maintain compliance with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels, mechanical components, and safety requirements. Prepare technical documentation including drawings, assembly instructions, technical reports, and design revisions. Support construction activities by providing detailed drafting and system schematics for tool fabrication. Perform 2D animation or visualizations to illustrate complex assembly procedures or system functions. Experience Proven experience in mechanical design or tool & gage development within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Extensive proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD & SolidWorks. Strong knowledge of GD&T standards and their application in precision tooling design. Familiarity with FEA software tools for structural analysis of mechanical components. Hands-on experience with system design, drafting, schematic creation, and technical writing. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical components and safety regulations. Mechanical engineering background with a solid understanding of construction processes and assembly techniques. Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
