$30.00 - $32.00 per hour We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Drafter to support innovative engineering projects in Austin, TX. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong CAD design experience who enjoys developing custom mechanical solutions, creating technical documentation, and collaborating with engineering teams and manufacturing partners. Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, models, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop custom-engineered products and system solutions. Design, model, and prototype mechanical components for industrial and test equipment applications. Gather project requirements and develop technical specifications and documentation. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support fabrication and production processes. Apply GD&T principles and mechanical design standards to ensure drawing accuracy and manufacturability. Support project execution, product development, and engineering change activities. Travel up to 25% as needed to support project and customer requirements. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Drafting or Mechanical Design experience. Advanced proficiency with CREO , Pro/E, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software. Strong understanding of mechanical design, GD&T, fabrication methods, and design documentation. Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and BOMs. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required for ITAR-related projects.
