Mechanical Design / Detail Associate Loos Machine & Automation LLC began in 1902 as a small maintenance and repair shop for local farmers. A Mechanical Design/Detail Associate plays a crucial role in the engineering and manufacturing process by focusing on the creating and refinement of mechanical designs. This position collaborates closely with engineers and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and refining mechanical designs based on specifications, sketches, and input from the engineering team Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, sheet metal, plastics, mathematics, and other physical sciences to complete designs and drawings Use computer assisted drafting (CAD) software as well as any other software needed in the completion of job responsibilities, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD Work with manufacturing to identify and resolve issues quickly Conduct analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to designs, modifications, and testing processes Generate new product ideas and product improvement processes

Requirements:

Associate's or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Design with 1-5 years of related design experience preferred Experience in AutoCAD & SolidWorks Ability to handle self-directed project design responsibility and work constructively with the engineering team Excellent problem-solving skills Ensure all projects are completed before assigned deadlines Basic understanding of shop manufacturing and Loos Equipment Follow safety procedures, both on and off-site
