Position Summary

STARTECX INC.

is seeking an experienced Senior Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and commission advanced automation equipment, robotic systems, and manufacturing production lines. This position combines mechanical engineering, electrical controls, robotics, sensors, machine vision, and software integration. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with custom automation equipment, PLC programming, industrial robotics, system troubleshooting, and customer-site commissioning. Key Responsibilities Design and develop automated machinery, robotic workcells, assembly systems, inspection equipment, and production-line solutions. Integrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, robotic, vision, sensor, and control-system components. Create and review system concepts, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and technical proposals. Develop and review 3D models, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software. Select motors, actuators, gearboxes, sensors, safety devices, pneumatic components, and other automation hardware. Develop, review, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion-control, and industrial communication programs. Program and integrate industrial and collaborative robots, including Universal Robots or similar platforms. Integrate machine-vision systems, 3D sensors, inspection equipment, and data-acquisition systems. Perform equipment testing, debugging, validation, and root-cause analysis. Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable machine-safety standards. Develop bills of materials, operating manuals, test procedures, maintenance instructions, and other technical documentation. Support equipment assembly, installation, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, and production launch. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and communication issues. Coordinate with customers, suppliers, machine shops, technicians, and cross-functional engineering teams. Identify project risks and communicate technical progress, concerns, and corrective actions to management and customers. Improve equipment reliability, cycle time, quality, safety, and maintainability. Mentor junior engineers, designers, technicians, and interns. Provide technical support at customer locations and travel as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, or a related field. At least five years of relevant experience in industrial automation, robotics, machine design, manufacturing equipment, or systems integration. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and motion-control systems. Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled automation equipment. Experience programming or integrating industrial or collaborative robots. Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and technical specifications. Strong equipment troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills. Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment assembly, testing, and commissioning processes. Strong communication, project-management, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment. Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to travel domestically and internationally based on project requirements. Authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in an engineering-related field. Experience with Universal Robots, FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, or similar robotic platforms. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, or Omron PLC and HMI platforms. Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus, TCP/IP, and other industrial communication protocols. Experience with servo systems, machine vision, 3D sensors, data acquisition, and automated inspection. Programming experience with Python, C++, C#, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools. Experience supporting automotive, electronics, battery, semiconductor, or high-volume manufacturing operations. Familiarity with

OSHA, NFPA 79, ISO 12100, ISO

13849, and

ANSI/RIA R15.06

requirements. Previous experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineering personnel. Physical Requirements Ability to work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, and customer-site environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work safely around industrial machinery. Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, and required personal protective equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Availability to work extended hours during critical installation and commissioning periods when required. Pay:

$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
