We are seeking an Underground Mining Engineer to join our team. This role supports safe, efficient, and sustainable underground mining operations through participation in mine planning, design, ventilation, ground control, and infrastructure projects. The Underground Mining Engineer works closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to optimize production, support mine development, and contribute to long-term mine planning objectives. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of mine plans. Participate in mine design activities, including development and benching layouts, sequencing, pillar design, access planning, and underground infrastructure planning. Evaluate geological, geotechnical, equipment, and operational constraints to optimize mine plans and support operational decision-making. Utilize mine planning, engineering, and design software to develop layouts, production schedules, and operational plans. Ventilation, Infrastructure & Technical Support Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of mine ventilation systems. Support utility and infrastructure planning, including power distribution, water systems, compressed air, communications networks, and atmospheric monitoring systems. Support ground control programs through participation in geotechnical monitoring, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations. Assist with exploration activities and resource and reserve evaluation efforts. Operational Analysis & Continuous Improvement Monitor operational performance through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and operational performance. Participate in planning reviews, hazard identification activities, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support production scheduling, mine services planning, budgeting, forecasting, and infrastructure development projects. Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company engineering standards and procedures. Promote a strong culture of safety and operational excellence throughout all engineering activities. Support initiatives that contribute to safe, sustainable, and responsible mining operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related field. 0-3 years of experience in mining, engineering, geology, or a related industry. Basic knowledge of underground mine planning, mine design, surveying, ventilation, and production scheduling principles. Familiarity with mine planning, engineering, CAD, and data visualization software. Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations, engineering standards, and industry best practices. Preferred Qualifications Previous internship, co-op, or project experience within mining operations. Experience supporting underground mine operations. Exposure to mine planning, mine design, or underground infrastructure projects. Familiarity with geotechnical monitoring, ventilation systems, or ground control practices.
