Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer- Heavy Civil to join our team! In this role you will get to work on one of the most exciting Infrastructure projects in the Country! The Hudson Tunnel project in NY/NJ was recently awarded to Parsons and 2 other partners. Program background The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country
- a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC).
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects, office and field engineering assignments including review of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods. Represent the Construction Management team during Daily Construction Meetings with the Contractor. Support Senior CM Staff with technical input. Manage oversight review of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) design, fabrication, and operation during tunneling. Manage oversight review of detail design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of precast concrete tunnel lining segments. Coordinate with the project team to ensure timely completion of tunneling works according to project specifications. Monitor tunneling progress, ground conditions, and excavation parameters. Review geotechnical and structural monitoring data. Implement safety protocols and quality control measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations. Prepare progress reports, documentation, and reports on TBM operations. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to challenges encountered during tunneling operations. Coordinate with the Outreach Team and Third Party Stakeholders.Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 10+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience working with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). Tunneling experience, specifically in pressurized face TBM mining, precast concrete segmental lining, and cross passage construction. Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in tunneling operations. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Security Clearance Requirement:
