$28.00 - $38.00 per hour Job description: Precision Build Solutions is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support quality assurance and quality control activities at our Gibsonton and Adamo Drive facilities . The primary responsibility of this position is to verify fabricated components meet shop drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements. The CWI will perform dimensional inspections using tape measures and other appropriate measuring tools and will visually inspect welds to verify workmanship and identify potential issues. This position is focused primarily on QA/QC, dimensional verification, and visual inspection . No welding test is required. Key Responsibilities Review shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Perform dimensional verification of fabricated components. Measure parts and assemblies using tape measures and appropriate inspection tools. Verify dimensions against approved shop drawings and specifications. Perform visual inspections of welds for informational and quality-control purposes. Identify dimensional discrepancies, weld defects, and other potential quality issues. Document inspection results and communicate findings to appropriate personnel. Work closely with production, welding, and management teams to resolve quality concerns. Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with applicable specifications and quality requirements. Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation and inspection records. Support the overall quality program and company safety standards. Perform additional quality-related duties as needed. Qualifications Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required. Previous QA/QC experience required. Experience performing dimensional inspections in a fabrication, structural steel, or manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of welding quality and visual inspection practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to use a tape measure and other basic inspection tools effectively. Ability to identify and communicate quality issues clearly. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work productively in a fast-paced fabrication environment. Preferred Additional Experience Candidates with additional NDT Technician experience and certifications are encouraged to apply. Compensation may increase based on the candidate's level of NDT certifications, technical knowledge, and demonstrated ability to perform inspection work accurately and productively.
Compensation Standard pay:
Based on experience and qualifications Potential pay range: $28-$38/hour for candidates with additional NDT experience and applicable certifications Compensation will be determined based on certifications, experience, technical ability, and demonstrated productivity and accuracy . Precision employees are paid weekly every Friday . Locations This position will support both Precision Build Solutions facilities: Gibsonton, FL Adamo Drive, Tampa, FL Important Information No welding test required. Employees must review the company Orientation PowerPoint prior to starting . Employee Referral Bonus Program is available for qualifying temp-to-permanent employees, with payout occurring 90 days after conversion to Precision payroll . Relocation assistance is available for Fitters only and does not apply to this CWI position. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented CWI with strong QA/QC experience who can accurately verify dimensions, interpret shop drawings, visually inspect welds, and communicate quality concerns to production personnel. Candidates with additional NDT certifications and hands-on inspection experience may qualify for the higher end of the compensation range.
