This position is responsible for verifying structural steel dimensions, inspecting welds, and supporting quality assurance and quality control operations across the company's fabrication facilities. The ideal candidate has previous QA/QC experience , strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately perform dimensional inspections using shop drawings and specifications. Candidates with additional NDT experience and certifications may qualify for increased compensation.
Compensation & Employment Pay:
$28.00 per hour

Temporary-to-Permanent Potential Pay:
Up to $38.00 per hour for candidates with additional NDT experience, certifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the work accurately and productively.
Pay Schedule:
Weekly, every Friday. Successful temporary employees may transition to permanent employment based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional verification of structural steel components using shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements . Measure fabricated steel components accurately using tape measures and other inspection equipment . Perform visual inspections of welds for quality-control purposes. Verify welds and fabricated components meet required dimensions and specifications. Review shop drawings and fabrication requirements to identify applicable inspection criteria. Document inspection results and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel. Identify dimensional, welding, or fabrication issues and communicate findings to production and management. Support QA/QC activities throughout the fabrication process. Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation. Work closely with welders, fitters, supervisors, engineers, and management to resolve quality issues. Follow company safety policies and quality procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform additional inspection and quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Previous QA/QC or welding inspection experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or structural-steel environment. Ability to read and understand shop drawings and specifications . Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform dimensional inspections using a tape measure and other basic inspection tools. Ability to visually inspect welds and identify potential quality concerns. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and effectively with production teams.
Preferred:
Experience with structural steel fabrication . Experience with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) . Knowledge of UT (Ultrasonic Testing) and shear-wave inspection . Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards. Additional NDT certifications. Previous experience working in a steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment. NDT Advancement Opportunity Candidates with additional NDT experience and certifications may be eligible for compensation of $28-$38 per hour , depending on: Level of NDT certifications Relevant inspection experience Ability to accurately perform inspections Productivity and work quality Experience with UT/shear-wave testing and structural-steel applications Work Locations This position may work at both Precision Build Solutions facilities: Gibsonton, FL Adamo Drive, Tampa, FL Testing Requirements No welding test is required for this Welding Inspector position. Candidates will be evaluated based on their relevant welding inspection, QA/QC, dimensional inspection, structural-steel, and NDT experience .
