STEEL INSPECTOR- NDT or CWI Gibsonton FL Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Technician Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Perform ultrasonic testing on welded steel areas to ensure weld quality, similar to an ultrasound. Check for holes, cracks, or other issues in the welds. Conduct shear wave vibration analysis to detect any cracks or malfunctions. Document inspection results and maintain accurate records. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any identified defects or issues.
Qualifications:
Certification in NDT methods (e.g., ASNT Level II or III). Strong understanding of NDT principles and techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. . Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Inspect and verify welding processes to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME). Review welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance. Conduct visual inspections of welds and perform non-destructive testing as required. Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports. Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Provide guidance and training to welders and other personnel on welding best practices.
Qualifications:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS). In-depth knowledge of welding processes, materials, and standards. Strong observational and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information Pay:
$24-$30 + per hour (pending experience).
Shift:
Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with overtime, currently working 40-48 hours per week).

Gibsonton, Florida, United States.
Work Environment:
