Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Certified Welding Inspectors for a project in
Merritt Island, FL DAY PAY:
$45/HR with $125/per diem

ASAP Essential Duties / Responsibilities for
Certified Welding Inspector:
Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document Interpretation of codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing requirements Use a computer to compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of weld quality, as well as for inter-office communications Recommend and approve repairs as well as performing visual inspection of work in progress and completed work Monitor welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, and shielded metal arc welding, and plasma arc welding and assuring they are performed in accordance with qualified procedures Verify and document welder qualifications Verify the compliance of base metals with the applicable specifications Appraisal of welding joint designs and joint preparations for compliance with drawing Verify proper fit, cleanliness, and environmental conditions Verify tack weld quality Verify preheat and interpass temperatures Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables Verify the interpass and final cleaning Assure the product's conformity to drawings and specifications Verify cleanliness and weld surface quality Oversee NDT examinations, proof, and if required mechanical testing Oversee repair activities Verify the proper performance of post weld heat treatments Confirm adequate documentation of fabrication and inspection activities Assist in training and developing of other teammates Support the development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries Interpret and review engineering drawings as required Interpret, evaluated, communicate and report findings to production and engineering Perform surface and near surface NDE inspections with eddy current, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle inspection methods Qualifications for
Certified Welding Inspector:
Education/Training/Certifications:
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current AWS certification
  • Must pass Federal Background check
  • Experience in Computer Radiography
  • Must be a carded radiographer
  • Current certification in MT
  • Current certification in
RT/CR NDE
qualifications in
MT, RT/CR NDE
level II certification Reliable Transportation a plus due to possibly moving from one site to another around Brevard County, FL. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for
Certified Welding Inspector:
2+ years of experience in welding inspection as a level II NDE technician or qualified inspector 5+ years of experience in an occupational function that has a direct relationship to the design, production, construction, or repair of weldments being fabricated to a specified code, other standard or a contract requirement Extensive knowledge of industry standards including AWS and ASME Working knowledge of surface and subsurface NDE methodologies
