Job Summary This role performs disassembly, inspection, overhaul and functional testing of UH-60 hydraulic components, following OEM and military specifications. Utilizes precision tools, technical manuals, and test equipment to ensure components meet strict quality, performance, and safety standards. General Accountabilities Perform complete disassembly, inspection, and evaluation of UH-60 hydraulic components including Main Rotor Servos, Main Rotor Dampers, Transfer Modules, SAS Actuators, Tail Rotor Servos, and Yaw and Collective Boost Pumps. Interpret and follow technical manuals and overhaul procedures (e.g., TM, CMM, IPC) to ensure all repair and testing processes meet OEM and military standards. Diagnose wear, damage, or non-conformance through precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and visual inspections, identifying root causes of failure. Clean, treat, and refurbish internal and external component parts, including corrosion removal, polishing, and preparing surfaces for reassembly or coating. Replace and calibrate critical internal parts such as seals, bearings, pistons, and valves according to strict engineering specifications and tolerances. Operate and maintain hydraulic test stands and pressure rigs to conduct functional and pressure testing of repaired units, ensuring performance under load matches specification. Document all steps of the overhaul process, including teardown findings, replacement parts, test results, and final sign-off in accordance with Quality Assurance protocols. Adhere to and promote safety standards while working with hydraulic fluids, high-pressure systems, and rotating equipment, using personal protective equipment and proper handling procedures. Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and logistics teams to resolve technical discrepancies, obtain parts, and maintain workflow efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and FAA-compliant work area, contributing to a safe and professional maintenance environment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance instructions. Proficient in the use of standard and specialized hand tools, with an understanding of tool calibration procedures. Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of OEM or equivalent overhaul training. Hands-on experience with Bell or Sikorsky components (Blackhawk experience is considered an asset). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required. 3-5 Years of related experience in the aviation industry preferred. Must be eligible to participate in and comply with the company's FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, and service components. Must have visual acuity to visually inspect components. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
