About the Role As a Quality Assurance Lead for Welding Operations, you will serve as the primary authority on structural integrity and manufacturing excellence. You will leverage your expertise in advanced inspection and gauge measurement to ensure every component meets rigorous industry benchmarks, directly influencing the reliability of our final products. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive evaluations of weldments to verify adherence to technical specifications and safety codes. Design and deploy robust quality control frameworks that elevate production consistency and minimize waste. Partner with manufacturing leads to diagnose process bottlenecks and implement high-impact quality improvements. Lead root cause investigations for non-conformances, establishing effective corrective and preventive action (CAPA) strategies. Document all inspection findings and quality metrics to maintain full traceability and compliance. Facilitate training sessions to cultivate a culture of quality awareness and technical proficiency among production staff. Utilize precision tools including calipers, micrometers, and specialized measurement gauges to validate dimensional accuracy. Required Skills Extensive background in quality management or weld inspection within a heavy manufacturing setting. Deep technical understanding of welding methodologies and established quality standards such as AWS or ASME. Demonstrated proficiency in precision measurement and advanced inspection techniques. Strong analytical capabilities with experience in quality control data analysis. Advanced communication skills to effectively report findings to stakeholders. Preferred Skills Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credentials. Hands-on experience with specialized quality management software systems. Proven track record of mentoring teams in technical quality standards. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
