A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Nondestructive Evaluation Inspector Imagine signing off the final inspection on a critical assembly destined for air, land, sea, or space—and knowing your decision helps protect those on the front lines. How you'll contribute Own inspection planning and execution—choose the right method for each part based on complexity and specification requirements. Surface nonconformances, partner with production to resolve them, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Capture accurate measurements and observations; prepare required reports per procedure. Lead final inspections and tests; conduct first article inspections to validate processes. Perform first-piece inspections on complex components and verify that vendor-supplied items meet all spec and certification criteria.
Use precision metrology:
micrometers, height stands, surface plates, gauges (thread, plug, plating thickness), hardness testers, optical comparators, and gauge blocks. Assist and continue developing proficiency to conduct NDT in accordance with
T9074-AS-G1B-010/271
; perform magnetic particle inspections per ASTM E1444 and NAVSEA

Author technique sheets and execute magnetic particle inspections to
ASTM E1444.
Author technique sheets and perform liquid penetrant inspections per applicable specifications. Participate in vendor audits and, following training, independently accept/qualify vendors on-site. Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and follow all safety and health protocols. Contribute to other related tasks as assigned. What you'll need Associate's degree or equivalent technical training 4-5 years of hands-on inspection experience Level II NDT Certification in VT, MT, and PT to SNT-TC-1A and/or NAS 410 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Clear, professional communication and strong teamwork Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments based on business needs
