Job Overview Innovex International is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who is also NDE certified (required) to join our Quality team at one of our Northwest Houston manufacturing locations supporting the oil and gas industry. This role is responsible for performing inspections and testing across all stages of production including receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspection with a strong focus on weld quality, fabrication standards, and NDE inspections. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable industry codes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Duties and Responsibilities Perform receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections on machined and fabricated components Inspect welded components for compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable welding codes such as AWS, ASME, and API Apply Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification to evaluate weld quality, discontinuities, and workmanship Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) as required Verify calibration and proper use of all measuring and test equipment prior to use Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools Identify, document, and process nonconforming materials through NCR procedures Maintain traceability, inspection status, and product preservation throughout manufacturing processes Review and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and inspection criteria Perform and support NDE inspections including MPI, LPI, UT, RT, and PAUT as required Ensure all inspection documentation, reports, and records are accurate and complete Collaborate with production, welding, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues Mentor and support QC Inspectors I and II as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Requirements Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required NDE certification required (MPI, LPI, UT, RT, or PAUT preferred) Five to seven years of experience as a Certified Welding Inspector required Strong understanding of welding processes, weld defects, and fabrication standards Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and weld symbols Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, and API Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions Strong communication and teamwork skills High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred Experience Oil and gas manufacturing or heavy industrial fabrication experience Hands-on experience with multiple NDE methods Experience with premium thread inspection a plus Prior welding or fabrication background strongly preferred
