A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description
This position requires eligibility to access controlled unclassified and other regulated technical information in accordance with applicable federal requirements. This role is not eligible for remote work and will be based onsite in Danville, Virginia. The Pay, Perks, & Benefits $27.00 - $28 per hour (with shift differentials where applicable) Retirement benefits through the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) with employer match Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and paid family leave Paid holidays including a two-week paid winter break Health insurance options including PPO and HSA plans with dental coverage Employer-paid life insurance How You Will Help the Team You will play a critical support role in delivering high-quality hands-on instruction for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program. By supporting instructors and students in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) lab, you will help ensure labs are safe, well-equipped, and ready for instruction in a fast-paced, accelerated training environment. What You Will Do Support NDT instructors during lab-based instruction for the ATDM program Assist students in the lab with proper use of equipment, materials, and processes Prepare labs for instruction, including setup and teardown Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment Monitor and restock consumables as needed Follow and reinforce shop safety and radiation safety practices Provide general operational and logistical support for the ATDM program Travel occasionally, as required Lab instruction includes the following NDT methods: Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual & Optical Testing (VT). Shift Availability ATDM Instructors and Technicians are assigned shifts based on training needs. Shift assignments are determined by business needs at the time of hire, performance, and tenure. This position requires flexibility to work any shift as program needs evolve. Compensation includes a shift differential based on assigned instructional hours. This position will support training on third shift .
