Job Description Job Summary:
Nondestructive examination of aircraft components made of metals, composites, ceramics, plastics, and other materials for internal and external structural defects, delamination, corrosion, and moisture penetration using eddy current, ultrasonic, or other types of nondestructive test processes and equipment as required. The work includes equipment setup, operation, adjustment, and evaluation or interpretation of test readings or results within established parameters for acceptance or rejection. This position reports to the Quality Manager but is accountable to the NDT Engineer.
Summary of Duties:
  • Performs Non Destructive inspections of: o Newly designed or revised products. o Incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and purchase order. o In-process inspection of parts being manufactured. o Sub-assemblies used in the construction of aircraft interiors.
  • Preparation of parts before or after inspection in accordance with written instructions approved by the appropriate Level 3.
  • Follow written instructions in the techniques/methods for which certified.
  • Set up and standardize equipment.
  • Set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified.
  • Provide the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainee personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified.
  • Troubleshoot/investigate inspection disparities to rule out issues resulting from NDT systems and software
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the C&D Zodiac.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly Preventive Maintenance on equipment.
  • Have a basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology.

Job Requirements Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, Level I and Level II certification training completed and current.
Experience:
2-4 years experience in Quality, aerospace inspection experience preferred, accumulated required hours to support NADCAP requirements.
Computer Skill:
Familiar with Windows Operating System®
Other Skills:
  • Qualified candidate must possess ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other technical literature is preferred.
  • Visual acuity for focus and color (corrected or not)
  • Knowledge of reading / interpreting engineering notes within 2D drawings and 3D MBD set
  • Full knowledge and skill set with QA handheld measurement tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity in ERP or MRP applications
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision` But what else?
