A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

About the Opportunity Established structural steel fabricator seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector with AWS CWI or ASNT VT Level II certification for their Wisconsin facility. Offering long-term stability, strong earning potential, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to work on complex bridge and heavy structural steel projects. What You'll Be Doing... Reporting to the Quality Manager , you'll be responsible for ensuring welds, materials and assemblies meet required specifications, codes and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform visual, dimensional, layout and fit-up inspections Monitor welding parameters and compliance with WPS requirements Monitor welder qualification testing Conduct bolt rotational capacity testing Assist with Total Station measurements Maintain accurate QC records and inspection documentation Identify and resolve quality issues alongside production teams Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications Coordinate QC hold points and support external/DOT inspections Work closely with welders, leadmen and supervisors to maintain production flow Support continuous improvement across shop quality processes What We're Looking For MUST HAVE... current AWS CWI or ASNT VT Level II certification Structural steel or fabrication experience preferred Strong blueprint reading skills Good understanding of welding codes and specifications Experience using inspection and measurement equipment Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Safety-focused and confident making quality decisions
