Job Description

Job Summary:
Ready to experience how large-scale engineering and construction projects come to life? As Nuclear Safety Intern at Centrus Energy, you'll gain hands-on exposure to the planning and execution of complex infrastructure and plant projects that support advanced uranium enrichment and facility operations. Working alongside experienced nuclear safety engineers and project teams, you'll see how nuclear safety considerations are incorporated into engineering design, procurement coordination, and construction planning come together to deliver mission-critical projects. This internship provides a unique opportunity to understand the full lifecycle of major capital projects while building technical and professional skills that will accelerate your engineering career.
What You Will Do:
Step into the world of large-scale project delivery and help support the engineering and construction efforts behind critical plant initiatives. As Nuclear Safety intern, you'll assist engineers and project managers with drafting and reviewing calculations and evaluations, reviewing design documents, supporting technical documentation, and coordinating with operations teams. You may help analyze engineering data, review drawings and specifications, assist with project reporting, and participate in design, safety, and project coordination meetings. Along the way, you'll learn how engineering designs transition into real-world construction and operational systems. At the end of the summer, you'll present your key contributions and lessons learned to the team. We'd Love to Hear from
People With:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or graduate program in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or a related field Interest in large-scale engineering projects, construction, or industrial facility operations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative technical environment U.S. citizenship
A Successful Candidate Brings:
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting Completion of at least one year of college-level coursework in an engineering, or related program
Pay:
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range:
$23-$25/hr. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test and vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively.
