Job Description
ORTEC is seeking a Specials Manager to manage and coordinate the daily activities related to the quoting and fulfillment of special and off-standard products. In this role, you will work closely with product managers and sales teams to deliver customized solutions that meet specific customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage the quoting, assembly, testing, and documentation of customized ORTEC products
Design, quote, assemble, test, document, and service customized products to meet specific customer needs
Communicate the status of customer orders for customized ORTEC products clearly and effectively to operations and sales teams
Analyze and interpret test data to ensure products meet customer expectations
Perform fabrication and/or assembly operations as required
Provide customer support, installation, and onsite training for custom integrated systems as needed
Demonstrate the ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency
Identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related engineering discipline Understanding of radiation detection and/or gamma-ray spectroscopy strongly preferred
Strong understanding of cryogenic vacuum systems preferred
Hands-on experience using hand tools and soldering for assembly work
Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, ProE, Inventor, or similar tools, with SolidWorks preferred
Strong proficiency with office productivity software Skills and Competencies Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
