- Level 6 to serve as a Deputy Subsystems Lead on the GPI Kill Vehicle Avionics Integrated Product Team (IPT) supporting the Launch and Exploration business unit in Chandler, Arizona .
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as the Deputy Lead for the Avionics subsystem, owning requirements, design, integration, and verification for the avionics and associated interfaces. Define and manage requirements for avionic subsystems performance, thermal and mechanical environments, electrical interfaces, reliability, and maintainability, ensuring traceability to system level requirements. Collaborate with technical leadership on system requirements generation and associated flow down, subsystem design/analysis, and subsystem performance verification including lab and flight testing. Coordinate with internal systems, guidance navigation and control (GNC), avionics, firmware/software, mechanical, materials, and manufacturing teams to ensure coherent system level integration and design closure. Generate and maintain technical documentation including requirements specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), design descriptions, test plans and procedures, and verification reports. Develops and evaluates electrical system architecture alternatives in concert with the broader systems engineering effort to select an electrical-system architecture that meets the customer's needs. Performs electrically focused requirement analysis and decomposition as part of the systems engineering translation of customer requirements into hardware specifications. Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies and evaluation of system and subsystem performance. Work with suppliers and vendors to develop, procure, and qualify hardware; provide detailed technical feedback on designs, analyses, and manufacturing processes; and ensure all hardware vendor development adheres to the program requirements and follows established department command media. Manage technical risk associated with avionics development, driving mitigation plans for performance, schedule, and producibility risks in collaboration with program management. Provide technical briefings to internal and external stakeholders, including participation in design, integration, and readiness reviews at the assembly and system levels.Basic Qualifications:
14 years with a bachelor's degree in engineering, or 12 years with a master's degree in engineering, or 8 years of related experience with a PhD. U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government- Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government Security clearance at the time of application. Experience serving as a responsible engineer or technical lead for avionics or guided section hardware on missile, space, or other high‑reliability platforms. Extensive Electrical Engineering background with an understanding of analog and digital electronics, power systems, command and data handling, signal integrity, and grounding schematic Hands-on experience executing specialized electrical engineering analysis (Sneak Circuit, Worst Case, Bent Pin, Power/Grounding, Derating, and Electrical Stress analysis) Previous experience with DoD missile defense programs, including familiarity with performance verification frameworks, environmental qualification, and flight test correlation. Familiarity of preliminary design review (PDR) and critical design review (CDR) processesPrimary Level Salary Range:
$166,500.00- $249,700.
