The Stationary Engineer operates and maintains boilers, generators, chillers, HVAC, water management, and other mechanical/electrical equipment supporting hospital operations. The role performs preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs while following safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Operations:
Operate and monitor stationary boilers, generators, chillers, HVAC, water treatment, and related systems.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on major equipment.
Inspections:
Conduct routine equipment rounds, identify potential problems, and take corrective action.
Building Systems:
Support maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems throughout the facility.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of equipment conditions, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
Emergency Response:
Respond appropriately to equipment issues and emergency situations.
MUST HAVE
Current LA City Steam Engineers Unlimited License / Unlimited Steam Engineer License. 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining boilers, electrical generators, HVAC/chillers, and water treatment systems. Maintenance and repair experience with major equipment such as boilers, chillers, and generators. Valid California Driver's License. Ability to work an 8-hour shift, climb ladders/stairs, and lift 100-150 lbs with assistance. Ability to work safely around mechanical equipment, tools, and hazardous materials. Ability to identify equipment issues and perform corrective actions with minimal supervision.
Shift Timing:
10:30 PM - 6:30
AM, M-F Weekly Schedule:
Monday - Friday CH1
Pay:
$52.00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you currently hold a valid LA City Steam Engineers Unlimited License / Unlimited Steam Engineer License? Do you have 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining boilers, generators, HVAC/chillers, and/or water treatment systems? Do you have hands-on maintenance and repair experience with major equipment such as boilers, chillers, and generators? Do you have a valid California Driver's License? Are you able to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift and climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs as required? Are you able to lift 100-150 lbs with assistance when required?
