Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems. This is a contract to hire role, on-site in Lake Mary. FL. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on electrical power distribution, instrumentation, equipment integration, and systems supporting Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and emissions-control equipment used in industrial and power-generation applications. The position offers the opportunity to work both in an engineering environment and directly at customer sites during installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
What You'll Do:
Design and support electrical systems for industrial and SCR/emissions-control equipment. Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, and related documentation. Support power distribution, motors, controls, electrical components, and equipment integration. Integrate new electrical systems with existing plant infrastructure. Create and modify electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software . Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and project specifications. Instrumentation & Industrial Systems Support electrical and instrumentation systems associated with industrial process equipment. Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, instrumentation interfaces, and system documentation. Support systems involving ammonia/urea injection, flue gas monitoring, catalyst monitoring, voltage regulation, load switching, and other industrial processes. Assist with electrical upgrades, modifications, retrofits, and equipment integration. Commissioning & Field Support Support equipment fabrication, installation, startup, testing, and commissioning. Travel to customer sites for field engineering and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues. Work closely with customers, project managers, mechanical and process engineers, fabrication teams, and field personnel. Support projects in industrial and remote field environments. Documentation & Compliance Ensure electrical designs meet applicable NEC and/or IEC standards and safety requirements. Prepare and maintain drawings, schematics, specifications, instrumentation documentation, test documentation, and maintenance procedures. Maintain accurate engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to improving electrical design and engineering standards.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience. Experience with industrial electrical design, instrumentation, and power distribution. Ability to develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, and system documentation. Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical CAD software . Working knowledge of NEC and/or IEC electrical standards. Experience with field commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, or installation support. Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, power distribution, and equipment integration. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed. Preferred Experience The following experience is a plus: SCR, emissions-control, or environmental-control systems Power generation or industrial process equipment Combustion systems, boilers, turbines, or packaged equipment Industrial instrumentation and process controls Switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motor controls, and electrical distribution Electrical and instrumentation panel design PLCs, SCADA, or industrial automation Equipment retrofits, upgrades, and system integration Professional Engineer (PE) license Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Ideal Candidate We're looking for an Electrical, E&I, or Industrial Electrical Engineer who combines strong electrical design skills with practical, hands-on industrial experience.
