U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder Required Position Overview HRU Technical Resources is seeking an experienced Project Engineer Onboard Charging Systems (OBC) to support the development of next-generation charging solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles. This role will focus on the design, integration, validation, and optimization of onboard charging systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience with onboard chargers, EV charging systems, power electronics, or electrified powertrain development, along with a strong understanding of high-voltage vehicle architectures and charging control strategies. Responsibilities Develop and manage system-level and functional requirements for onboard charging systems. Design, develop, and optimize AC charging control strategies. Lead the integration of onboard charging systems within high-voltage vehicle architectures. Support hardware and software development for prototype and production charging solutions. Perform system verification and validation through MiL, SiL, HiL, bench, and vehicle testing. Analyze charging system performance, efficiency, thermal behavior, reliability, and fault management. Develop and execute test plans to validate charging functionality and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with controls, software, calibration, hardware, and systems engineering teams. Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with automotive safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards. Participate in technical design reviews, customer meetings, and engineering discussions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Power Electronics, or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Onboard Charging Systems (OBC) EV Charging Systems Power Electronics Electrified Powertrain Development Strong understanding of onboard charger architectures and electric vehicle charging systems. Experience developing system and functional requirements. Knowledge of AC charging systems, power electronics, and high-voltage vehicle architectures. Experience integrating charging systems and performing vehicle-level validation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following: MATLAB/Simulink Embedded Coder
C/C++ AUTOSAR CAN, CAN
FD, and UDS diagnostics EV charging standards and protocols:
SAE J1772 CCS DIN 70121 ISO 15118 EMC/EMI
