JobDescription:
JoinadynamicgroupofElectricalPowersystemengineersresponsibleforthedesign,developmentandintegrationofPowersubsystemfortheworld'spremierland-basedcombatvehicleproducer.
PositionTitle:
PowerSystemDesignSeniorEngineerThePowersystemteamispartoftheSystemEngineeringgroupatGDLS.Ourmissionistoinvestigate,design,develop,andintegrateelectricalpowersubsystemcapabilitiesforthecurrentandnextgenerationofvehicleplatforms.

Theteamworkswithinlargersystemsgroupwithresponsibilityandauthoritytodeliverdesignrequirements,performanalysis,guidethehardwareandsoftwaredesignteamswiththegoalofintegratingandtestingthematthesubsystemandvehiclelevel.
ResponsibilitiestoAnticipate:
LeadElectricalPowersystemdesignanddevelopmenteffortsregardingamixofadvancedcapabilities,includingbutnotlimitedto:
PowersubsystemdesignandintegrationPowersystemArchitectureDecisionsAdvancedTechnologiestradestudiesWorkinternallyandexternallywithvendors/partnerstointegratefunctionalityoftheirsystems/subsystemsseeminglyontoGDLSplatformsDevelopCAEmodelsforcomplexhybridelectricsystems-IntegrationofHVBattery,ISG,E-Motor,DC/DCs,powerdistributiondevicesintoaPowersubsystemmodelCreationandintegrationofCAEmodelsintoapowersubsystemmodeltodynamicallyevaluatesystemperformanceforvariousexternalfactors(Drivecycles,tolerances,loadingprofiles,environmentalandroadloadconditionsetc.)PerformacomponentandsystemsizinganalysisforvariousconditionsbasedoncustomerrequirementsUnderstandingoffeatures/systemsrequirementsandtheabilitytotranslatetherequirementsintovalidationtestproceduresandusecasesProvidedirectionforteammembersincludingtechnologyroadmapsandmentorship.

Approve/Developdocumentation,SSDD,SRS,CANICDsandotherartifactsforimplementationtothepowerhardwareproductionteamParticipateininternalandcustomerdemonstrationsWorkcloselywithcrossfunctionalmembersoftheengineeringorganizationtodevelopandevaluatecriticalinterfaces,usecases,drivecyclesprofiles,operationalperformancerequirements,anddesignoftheoverallsystemParticipateinpeerreviews,identify,trackandassesssolutionstodefectsConductresearchandevaluationofemergingtechnologiesinHybridElectricSystems(
HVBatteries,E-motors,Powerelectronicdevicesandarchitectures,methodologies,andintegrationstrategiesPositionRequirements:
Bachelor'sorMaster'sinElectricalEngineering,ElectricalPowerSystemsorrelatedtechnicalfield10yearsplusinarelatedroleisdesired.

Experiencewithelectricalpowersystems(Powergeneration,powerdistribution,powermanagementandenergystorage)ofmilitaryorautomotivevehicles,includingspecifications,development,design,testing,integrationandtroubleshootingofvehicleelectricalpowersystemandtheirassociatedhardwarecomponentsisrequired.

StrongknowledgewithhybridelectricalarchitecturesandsystemintegrationwithdifferentvoltagesStrongbackgroundinmodelingandsimulationofElectricalsystemsStrongbackgroundinmodelgeneratedcodingapplications,i.e.

Matlab/SimulinkandAnsysComfortablewithsupportingintegrationissuesinalabandonavehicle.

HighlymotivatedperformerWorkswellinteamandindividuallyGoalorientedandkeeptheteamfocusedtotaskAbilitytomulti-taskonsimultaneousdevelopmentprojects,ensuringadherencetobudget,schedule,andmissionscopeHaveaproactiveattitudeandenjoyworkinginafast-pacedenvironmentMustbeabletoworkoccasionaleveningand/orweekendovertimeStrongcommunication,interpersonal,andpeopleskillsrequiredAbilitytotravelwhenneeded,minimaltravelrequiredforthisroleNicetohave(additionalqualifications):
