Required
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience.
Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years of engineering work experience.
Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
Relevant Work Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
Proficiency in using PSS/E CAPE, Aspen or equivalent fault study analysis tools, required.
Experience with various microprocessor relay platforms and software, required.
Ability to write engineering specifications and standards, preferred.

Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday
Additional Physical Demands
Will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to travel throughout the company service territory and work at company locations as needed.
Ability to wear the required PPE as needed.
Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, and in all weather conditions.
Ability to work in power plants and high voltage substations.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, test, implement, and maintain system standards, including philosophy documents, relay setting guides, templates, drawings, and test procedures.
Research industry best practices and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement of established standards.
Perform engineering analyses, evaluate new hardware and software solutions, and support the deployment of protection system upgrade initiatives.
Support department efforts by implementing new strategies, initiatives, and processes to enhance the design, operation, and reliability of Systems.
Provide technical support to other functions, including protection system asset management and remote monitoring and analytics of substation devices.
Oversee vendor activities and perform technical reviews to ensure contractor work meets engineering standards and departmental requirements.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to implement relay protection standards, obtain feedback, and manage expectations.
