Role Description You will be part of ASPOWER Inc's US R D organization as a Power Systems / Bench Test Engineer based in the Greater Bay Area (San Jose and surrounding region). This is a hybrid role involving both hands-on laboratory work in San Jose and remote engineering design/analysis. You will work closely with our engineering and product design teams to perform hands-on bench bring-up, hardware debugging, thermal evaluation, and systems-level validation for high-efficiency power supply solutions. In this role, you will be the technical expert ensuring complex AC/DC and DC/DC units meet performance, efficiency, and reliability specifications prior to deployment. Occasional regional travel and international travel to production/R D bases in China, Mexico, and Southeast Asia (1-2x per year) may be required to support hardware validation and transition to production. What you need to be successful in this role: Extensive hands-on experience operating lab equipment, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power analyzers, and signal generators Direct experience with fine-pitch soldering, PCB modification, component-level rework, and hardware debugging Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills applied to complex power supply topologies and power electronic systems Strong time management skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach to execution and testing Excellent technical documentation skills for drafting detailed bench validation reports, test plans, and fault-analysis summaries Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced environment Self-starter mindset with a strong initiative to optimize test setups and improve lab automated testing workflows
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (we are not accepting other degrees at this time unless significant experience in power electronics design/testing is demonstrated) Professional efficiency/fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) to interface with overseas R D headquarters and manufacturing facilities Understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, and electronic components Knowledge of analog, mixed-signal, or digital circuitry, with exposure to power electronics (e.g., AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, power management, converters, regulators)
Preferred Qualifications:
