Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Hardware Product Engineer near San Jose CA to join an industry-leading organization focused on advanced connectivity and interconnect solutions. The Hardware Product Engineer will serve as the technical lead for high-speed copper cable assemblies, driving product development, validation, and manufacturing support while ensuring exceptional product performance, reliability, and quality throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities of the
Hardware Product Engineer:
Act as the technical owner for Twin-Ax cable assemblies, providing expertise in product design, reliability, and performance. Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities including prototyping, testing, validation, and production readiness efforts. Perform engineering analysis such as tolerance stack-ups, material assessments, failure investigations, and simulation-based evaluations. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, signal integrity, and supplier teams to optimize product performance and support high-volume production. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process enhancements, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications of the
Hardware Product Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 3+ years of experience supporting interconnect products, high-speed cable assemblies, or electronic product design within a manufacturing environment. Experience utilizing CAD software such as Creo/Pro-E, along with engineering analysis and simulation tools. Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in Excel, Minitab, Matlab/Octave, or comparable data analysis platforms. Knowledge of GD&T principles, product validation methodologies, and cross-functional project management. Willingness to travel ~10% domestically and internationally. Compensation for the Hardware Product Engineer includes: Salary range: $70,000 - $110,000 annually Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and holiday This job opens for applications on 09/04/2026.
