Engineering-to-Order (ETO) Engineer Wallingford, CT CPS Fluidics believes the world is made better through the ethical deployment of technology. We partner with like-minded organizations and individuals in the biotech and scientific community to provide custom product solutions to solve their fluidic and microfluidic needs. This position will provide technical expertise for the development, production and sustaining of flow cells, microfluidic devices and other products produced. Position Summary The Engineering-to-Order (ETO) Engineer is responsible for managing custom customer projects from technical review through production release. This role works closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to develop manufacturable solutions that meet customer requirements, quality standards, and delivery expectations. Responsibilities Responsible for managing custom customer projects from technical review through production release. Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. Develop engineering solutions for custom products and manufacturing processes. Create and maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and product documentation. Support technical quoting and evaluate manufacturability. Manage projects from concept through prototype, validation, and production release. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines. Lead engineering changes (ECOs) and maintain revision control. Support Manufacturing by troubleshooting technical issues and implementing process improvements. Participate in first article inspections, prototype builds, and product validation activities. Communicate project status with internal teams and customers as needed. Perform other duties as required. Preferred Skills Must work well with others across entirety of the organization and product. Must collaborate within a small, multi-disciplinary team. Soft skills a must. Good communication. Able to articulate observations, findings and results in a concise and meaningful manner both verbal and written. Self-driven to participate and contribute in an array of areas and complex challenges. Comfortable engaging in new subject fields.
Demonstrated aptitude for solving problems:
observant and methodical. Primarily hands-on learner with the ability to understand and implement theory. Natural curiosity. Fact-based decision making. Sense of urgency and awareness with a demonstrated pattern of achievement. Able to deliver within deadlines or communicate obstructions. Mechanically inclined. Ability and desire to work on components and small machines. Experience in Biotechnology, Biomedical, Life-sciences, Diagnostics or Optical Devices preferred SolidWorks (CAD, FEA, CFD) a plus Qualification and Education Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field preferred Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Ability to wear required PPE and cleanroom attire when necessary.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
