SAP ERP Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Product Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of diesel and natural gas-powered generator solutions in a cost-effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. Review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerance, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, and comply with all quality, safety, work rules, and regulations. Specializing in Robotics Power Solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and release accurate engineering Bills of Materials for new and existing products. Ensure BOMs accurately reflect the intended product design and manufacturing requirements. Review BOMs for completeness, accuracy, proper quantities, units of measure, and correct part numbers. Maintain BOMs across multiple product configurations, models, options, and voltage/specification combinations. Support the Engineering Change Order (ECO/ECN) process and ensure changes are properly incorporated into BOMs. Ensure obsolete or superseded components are properly controlled and replaced. Coordinate with affected departments to communicate BOM and engineering changes. Create and maintain part numbers, BOMs, revisions, and related product information within SAP. Maintain accurate part descriptions, units of measure, sourcing information, and other required material attributes. Identify duplicate, obsolete, or incorrectly configured part numbers and work with appropriate departments to resolve them. Perform data audits to identify BOM and ERP inconsistencies. Work closely with Manufacturing and other engineering departments to ensure BOMs accurately represent the manufacturing process. Investigate BOM-related production issues and implement corrective actions. Support configuration of products with multiple options, accessories, ratings, voltages, engines, alternators, controls, enclosures, and other variations. Assist in developing standardized product structures to minimize unnecessary BOM variations. Work with Sales and Engineering to identify non-standard configurations and ensure they are properly documented and controlled. Generate engineering change orders to release components and assemblies, make improvements and clarifications, and reduce opportunities for errors. Work with Engineering to understand product design requirements, components, and assemblies. Work with Microsoft Teams, Planner, and the Sales Order board Work with Quality to support traceability, corrective actions, and product compliance. Provide technical support and clarification regarding BOM structure and product configuration. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the
Quality Management System Competences, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Preferred). Flexible, able to adapt to changing situations and learn new things. Intermediate level with Microsoft Office products, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc. Experience with SAP is considered a plus. Advanced oral / written communication skills. Ability to focus on multiple assignments at a single time (multitask). Basic materials knowledge (plastics, metals, rubbers). Experience with 3D CAD design (Inventor Autodesk is preferable). Excellent teamwork and communication skills Proactive, affinity, patient, careful, reliable, teamwork spirit, able to work under pressure, adaptability to changing environment.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) usage required when at the floor plant. Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work to perform reviews of BOMs, and in reading schematics, peripheral vision, depth perception, blueprints, and instructions. Must be able to distinguish and ensure product BOM quality in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for area of responsibility.
Work Environment:
This position is in an office, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and some exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and gases.
